What Is Polyurethane?

Polyurethane is one of the toughest, most wear and abrasion resistant material available today.

The secret of Polyurethane is its closed cell structure.
This makes it very stable and keeps moisture from migrating behind coatings.

Moisture migration causes serious problems in wood building products (such as wood beams or planks), promoting paint failure and rot.

Because of the rigid closed cell structure of Polyurethane, it does not transmit water or water vapour, thus the finished colour to the moulding remains unaffected by moisture migration, the main cause of wood-paint failure.

Faux Wood Planks

Made from a cellular resin, the faux wood planks are cast from oak originals and the rigid closed cell structure of the Mock Tudor timber effect planks makes them water tight and maintenance free.

Our Mock Tudor timber effect planks are handmade reproductions of English Oak.

The timber effect planks are designed complete with a grained timber texture, knots and imperfections of centuries old oak

The Timber Alternative

The effect is so true to life it's hard to tell that the Mock Tudor timber effect Cellular Resin planks are not real wood.

To make these Mock Tudor plastic timber effect planks look real any sizes quoted are approximate as the boards are designed to vary in size and depth.

Due to the beams being handmade and stained colours will vary which adds to the authentic look and feel of the Mock Tudor timber effect planks when fitted.

Stronger & Second To None

Our Faux Wood planks combine low weight with long-term stability and extremely low water absorption characteristics. They will not decay or rot and are not susceptible to attack by termites or other wood boring insects. The plank has a tough skin with a very strong core density and will accommodate countersunk screws concealed by Mock Tudor Pegs

The light weight polyurethane planks can withstand temperatures of up to 100 degrees centigrade without the surface blistering or cracking.

Our Planks are made from a dual component; MDI based rigid polyurethane foam with a superior core density in the range of 300 - 450 kg / m³
